UNCRD held a training
workshop
from 19-23 May and
a national symposium on 24 May 2008. Both events were held
in Lalitpur, Nepal.
The training workshop was attended by engineers from 24 municipalities
across Nepal and 10 persons from resource institutions and
UNDP. The main objective of
the training workshop was to develop action plans to implement
the Nepal National Building Code (NBC) in each participating
municipality.
The national symposium which followed the training workshop
was attended by 100 persons, mostly from the general public.
The event introduced various initiatives to implement NBC and
discussed issues of implementation.
